SignallingWA Web Site Update - 16/09/2016

Hi everyone,

I have been busy in the background scanning part of my collection of WAGR Diagrams of Signalling.

Time has been found to start on that very large task of adding the names of Signalmen to the various Signal Cabins they worked. This will include other work roles that the signalmen carried out in their career, so that with a simle search (found in this website's banner header), it should be possible to see the work history of an individual as their career progressed. These additions will be, I thnk, quite useful to Family Historians researching their forebears work on the W. A. Railways. At least that is what I am hoping for. The details are to be found at the bottom of the respective Signal Cabin and Station Frames pages - but please note this work is far from complete and will be an on-going task.

Thanks also to SIGWA member Justin Smith for writing new pages on East Perth (1) and Belmont Signal Boxes.

I think that we would all welcome more memories and stories about working the railways and signalling in particular - if you have some that you's like to share, or information you would like to add, please send them in using the e-mail form on each page.

As usual, all of this is very much a 'work in progress', so if you can shed some new light on any of these topics, please let me know.

Cheers, and 'Line Clear' for now - Chris. J. E. French (SignallingWA).
